This job was originally posted as a strictly temporary position to last from 09/2013-01/2014. Since I had been job hopping through-out most of my career, I thought I could continue the trend so long as I was gaining experience.
I came across this posting on either craigslist or idealist.org. I applied, saying temporary was ok, and then received a response to set up a phone interview. Phone interview was basic. Brief questions on my background and what I'm looking for, etc. Then received a response to set up an in-person interview.
That interview was interesting. The hiring manager (now my boss) asked me again if a temp job was ok, and I confirmed. He then talked about the company and what their current objectives were, etc. A lot of questions were geared around my past job-hopping, but then others were more specific to the production aspect of the job, probably to test my knowledge. No sweat ;)
After submitting 4 letters of recommendation, and provide contact information to my references, I was asked to get signatures on the letters for verification, which I did. And after an educational/employment background check, I was offered the position.
Since then, I have been brought on as a permanent employee, with much effort and enthusiasm from my boss, who has stood by me confidently since day one.
