      International Business Analyst Interview

      17 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AZSBDC (Phoenix, AZ) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Was contacted for an interview for this position with a regional office in October 2018. Participated in a three-stage interview process, with a four-person panel interview as the first phase. Per district regulations, was provided with written questions on-site and gave specific answers to the questions below. Responses were graded by the panel and no follow-up questions could be asked. Second phase was a role-play presentation given to a group of exporters in November 2018. The presentation had a strict 10-minute maximum time limit and graded on several metrics. Third phase was a 1:1 interview with state director. The interview phase took roughly three weeks. I received a phone call from the regional director thereafter confirming that they would be extending an offer to me once HR received my references. After I was not contacted throughout December 2018, I followed up with both HR and hiring manager directly. In mid-February 2019, I received a canned response from the HR department indicating that they were instead pursuing "other candidates." Handled incredibly unprofessionally.
