Run as fast as you can from Adyen.
Adyen has deliberately been advertising this Event Marketing Manager position for 2+ years with no intention of hiring someone, if you check LinkedIn Jobs regularly you will notice they always have the exact same openings. I know this cause I applied multiple times to be considered for this position and was rejected by the ATS back in 2021, until I was reached out for a screening in August 2022.
I did four rounds of interviews, everyone I met was super friendly and I was adamant of joining, but unfortunately on my very last panel, they mentioned they moved on with candidates that were a better fit, which is understandable as with any hiring process, BUT here’s where things got shady.
I got the rejection in September of 2022, then reposted the same position several times over the next weeks and months, and this was not the only times the position was open.
Fast forward to May 2023, this exact same position it’s still open with more than 499 applicants.
Adyen is purposely doing this to:
- Show that they are hiring and “growing”
- Have a pipeline of candidates to hold over their current employees heads to replace them if they underperform
- To avoid giving COVID loans and grants back to the government
Save your time for companies that are actually hiring, I was caught on this BS for an entire two months only to discover they never intended to hire anyone in the first place.
