I did the first interview and then I got an answer that the position filled. The interview was so good from my perspective, the interviewer was content oriented and asked the relevant questions in my opinion. This also reflected to their response like recommend other open positions
Technical questions were challenging enough and thought through. The overall recruitment process was fast but very well organised. Discussion with the recruiter and interviewers were quite interesting and got a lot of information about the way of working and the company.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam) in Apr 2025
Interview
In total 3 rounds for the application, but more to come if not rejected.
1. 30 minutes with team lead
2. 45 minutes with a global lead and a team member
3. 1 hour in-person case study with team lead and global lead.
First two rounds were more behavior questions, asking about cultural fit and Adyen's formula. Case study was to analyze data and make a presentation. Not a single round with HR, not even knowing the range of salary in the first place, nor in their JD.
During the case study, global lead was oftentimes with his computer, felt like not even listening to the presentation. The team lead gave constructive feedback and asked insightful questions. After a week of waiting, HR called to reject the application, with the reason of not providing business-focus presentation, which is never mentioned in the instruction of the case study. On top of that, the way HR talked gives the sensation that she could not care less and just wanted to close the call as soon as possible.
Overall, long and unsatisfactory process, disrespectful people interaction, untransparent salary range.
