I had just gotten word that my wife had to relocate for her job down to Cincinnati from Columbus, and that meant that I would have to start looking for a new job there. I looked for a number of jobs online and that was super frustrating. I found Aegis Business Consulting online and applied for the heck of it. It looked like fun and something that I could do with some training. I got a call from a really nice woman a few days later saying that she had seen that I applied and I got called in to their office in Blue Ash the next day for a preliminary interview. This was nice for me because I wanted to start working again as soon as I could. I'm definitely not one who wants to wait to work. The first interview was short and sweet, and it gave me a chance to get to know the manager on a one on one basis. Everyone seemed very pleasant. There were other people in the lobby and I took that as a challenge.
After being called back in for a second round interview, I came back to see what a normal day would be like. I was greeted by the same nice people as I was for my first interview and everyone that I saw at the office seemed motivated and happy to be at work. I went out on my full day interview with two people and got a great taste of what I would be doing everyday. I really appreciated being able to see the two reps meet with their clients and actually see how the sales and marketing works at Aegis. At lunch time, the reps took me to lunch where it was explained to me that this is a management training program. It was nice to know that I didn't have to be stuck in the same position all my life and I have always wanted to move up in a company. And to also see that if I worked hard enough in my first year, I could potentially be my own boss and be in a high tax bracket made me realize that my work could be recognized.
When we got back to the office I had my third round interview. All of my questions were answered about the position and this was the first time that I left an interviewing process feeling like I knew exactly what was expected of me. I really liked how at Aegis they gave me an opportunity to really see if this would be a good fit for me or not. It was also nice to know that the company knows what kind of candidate they are looking for and doesn't waste time looking. I got offered a position there that night and accepted. I have been working at Aegis Business Consulting for a month now and am glad I made this decision.
