I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Affirm in Jul 2021
Interview
Applied and within a day I received a call back from the Technical Recruiter. Great conversation with the individual that was helping to screen candidates to proceed to next round with the Hiring Manager.
Had the video interview with the Hiring Manager the next day. It became pretty noticeable within the first two minutes, the Hiring Manager was not interested in me at all. He asked a couple of technical questions, but it became very obvious from his body language, he was just trying to finish the interview. I was only able to ask about two questions to say the least. Found him to be arrogant and unlikeable. I hope he was just having a bad long day. Next day, I have received the rejection letter. It confirmed my suspicions that it was NOT AT ALL a great interview. And I was just a candidate to fulfill the HR quota. I honestly wished it was the Technical Recruiter doing the interview and not the actual Hiring Manager. I asked for feedback and never received it. I wish employers just put the legal crap aside and actually respond to candidates regardless if the got the job or not. The current candidate experience for many employers is lacking or its just plain crappy.
Thanks for taking the time to participate in our interview process. We aim to provide prompt and thorough feedback to each candidate, and regret that this is not always possible due to a high volume of applicants. We'll keep working to improve moving forward and wish you the best of luck in your search.
