I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Akelius in Feb 2020
Interview
I applied online. The interview was 3 parts. The first part was calling with HT manager and answer to questions like salary expectation and why you want to leave your current job. The second step was some personal questions and some technical questions with the Team manager and Backend lead and tell me what is the company's goals and targets.
The third step was completely technical asking about javascript and mostly Angular as well, they were 4 persons and ask me different questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Akelius (Berlin) in May 2018
Interview
First non-technical meeting (1h30) and then meeting with the developers. First meeting went really fine, I explained them what I was doing actually, my experience with Angular that I used actually on small and average apps, and my goal was to start working on more ambitious projects. I had been contacted for a second interview to "meet" the frontend developers.
2nd interview: worst than an interrogation at the police station. 50 minutes non-stop of random questions about code and Angular. Not a question about me, who I am, what I'm doing, what is my goal, just questions after questions. After 20 minutes I was gone in my head, just wanted to leave, this interview gave me a really bad image of the work atmosphere in this company.
And finally they didn't hire me, because they felt I was working only on small and average apps, which were not enough for them (I told them during the first interview!), and there were few questions on Angular I couldn't answer. I've checked what it was after, in less than one day, I knew what these features were for and how to use them. This had been a big waste of time for me.
Their recruitment process is really bad, when I go meet developers, I want to talk about code of course, but I want to actually MEET the people I will work with. We will spend 40h a week together, I want to know who they are and how we will work together. Code is code, everybody can learn simple features...
