First spoke with contract recruiter covering my experience & qualifications. I also noted areas where I was light on experience. I was assured that would be OK & that I should proceed with an interview with HR. I had a very good conversation with the HR manager. We hit it off real well. We went over my resume in detail. Again noting skills, job requirements & experience. As with the contract recruiter, I pointed out areas where I’m light on experience & asked for his assessment. Same as before, he 100% assured me things were good & started explaining the next steps in the hiring process & said I would get a call scheduling a technical interview for the next week or after. Almost 2 weeks later, no response from AlixPartners, no response from my contract house recruiter. Finally, after several calls & emails, the contract recruiter says AlixPartners is not proceeding- they want to see more experience in the very areas I pointed out earlier to both him & the HR manager! I know this has happened to others as well. Clearly there is a disconnect between the technical manager & HR or maybe some political gamesmanship is going on internally or they’re looking for a unicorn. The position has been open a long time. If they just pulled the trigger & hired a good technical person, he/she would’ve been fully up to speed in all areas by now!
