I was approached by a recruiter, scheduled an interview after multiple delays. First round was taken by 2 managers. Gave self intro, asked some basic questions on Azure Devops, asked to write python code, explained them that I did some python fastapi work as well and showed them my code on GitHub. They also looked if a candidate is interested in working on Azure ML and data tools. Few basic docker and k8 questions. After 10 working days, got to know that I am selected. Very delayed process. Then they conducted L2 which was worst.
Interview was taken by 2 people who are 2 years and 3 years experienced. They just asked about project and DevOps tool I had used. I explained and gave clear picture. When I asked, what tools are in place now and how many people are in team - they mentioned we don’t have any ci/cd pipeline or terraform code or infra as of now. I was quite surprised at that time, how they can send inexperienced people to take an interview. Then they asked are you the type of candidate who will be able to learn and work data science, ETL, Azure ML and testing etc.
I clearly mentioned, I am lot interested in working on that but as a DevOps engineer, I would set the platform first and then will work on the mentioned tools. 1 interviewer is data scientist and other is data engineer. Looks like they’re expecting someone that can do both their roles as well as Devops.
They said ok, and I thought this position might help to learn more.
But got to know next day they had rejected my profile without any proper feedback.
I think Allianz should send right people for evaluation. I myself took 100+ interviews in my previous company but never evaluated like this.
