Initially, a recruiter reached out to me about potential opportunities. She set up a phone interview for us to speak. We talked for about an hour and it was an amazing conversation. We went through my resume, she asked about me and I was able to ask several questions. She was super engaged, friendly and spoke so well about Altar'd State. I was looking forward to the opportunity to possibly work for the company. I then had an in person interview with the district manager. Unfortunately, the interview experience was very awkward. We quickly ran through portions of my resume and was asked several different things about my experience. When answering some of the questions, I was interrupted or cut off. It was if the DM was combative in her responses as well. Also, when I would respond, she would scribble some words on this massive spiral notebook (which looked to have previous candidates responses on them) I have a lot of experience for the position but was made to feel as if I didn't. The DM just kept stressing how much work load there is and kept asking if I was able to do over nights and had enough time to handle the work load. I was also able to provide several examples of previous situations but it was brushed off. The whole experience was just so awkward.
I left the interview feeling so confused and disappointed because I was looking forward to the opportunity and I doubt I would get a call back. The recruiter was just so warm, inviting and felt like a genuine reflection of the company and the district manager was the complete opposite. I also referred two of my former co workers and they had the same exact feedback about their interviews with the DM. The company may want to reevaluate who they have representing them when trying to attract new talent.
Thank you for your recent post and we apologize for your experience. Can you provide me any details on the store, district or DM that you spoke with so that we may conduct research on your experience to ensure that we learn from this situation? Thank you in advance!

Application
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Altar'd State (East Rutherford, NJ) in Mar 2021
Interview
I had 2 interviews before being ghosted. I had been in communication with the company off and on for months. I had 2 interviews the 1st being a simple phone screening and the 2nd a zoom call. Everything seemed to go well, I was told I should have an answer in 2 weeks. 6 weeks later they never followed up or answered my calls or emails.
