The interview process lacked clarity and consistency from the beginning. The first round was scheduled and later postponed due to internal scheduling constraints. After that, I was informed the discussion was being rescheduled to ensure a more meaningful interaction rather than a rushed process. However, the rescheduled interview was then cancelled, and I was subsequently informed that the position had already been filled. Only after escalating the inconsistency was the interview process reopened and conducted.
The biggest concern was the mismatch between the original job description and the final rejection feedback. The JD and recruiter discussions were focused on D2C/e-commerce product management, website workflows, SEO, funnels, customer journeys, and operational problem-solving. However, the rejection feedback later emphasized AI product building and AI-led flywheel creation, which was neither communicated during recruiter discussions nor reflected in the posted JD.
The interview itself was professional, but the overall coordination, shifting evaluation criteria, and lack of alignment between hiring communication and actual expectations created a confusing candidate experience.
