After inviting me for phone interview, the AMA stood me up, i.e., they just didn't call. About 45 minutes after the appointed time for the interview, I replied to the email inviting me to interview and said that I was disappointed that the interviewer could not keep our appointment and hoped we could reschedule. Perhaps the interviewer had a family emergency; I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. A few minutes later, she called and told me that the job had already been filled and I am overqualified anyway. I was confused by this. If they already made an offer to someone, why did they invite me to interview? And if they thought I was overqualified, why did they invite me to interview? Then, the interviewer asked what my salary requirements were for the nonexistent job and before I could refuse to answer such a ridiculous question, she said $90K was too much. Then, she gushed about excited she was to received my resume and how much great experience I have. Then she pressed me again for my salary requirement for the nonexistent job. I didn't respond with a number. Finally, she encouraged me to reapply because these positions turnover "all the time."
Today, I received a rejection letter thanking me for our great "phone interview," and stating that they were pursuing candidates whose experience aligns better with the position.
