      Associate Director Interview

      17 Feb 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Rivers

      Interview

Two rounds of interviews. The first was with five admins, round-robbin style, with two questions each from three staff members, and then time for me to ask questions. The second interview was more conversational.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Rivers in May 2026

      Interview

Submitted application online, followed by an email request with a series of additional questions to complete. I was later invited to a 50-minute panel interview with standard questions. The panelists were professional and overall welcoming throughout the process. My only concern was with the HR communication during the process, which was limited. After the interview and last thank you note, there was no formal update or follow-up, and most communication consisted of brief acknowledgments (at best i got thumbs-up reactions) rather than clear status updates or even simple thank you for following up.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Rivers in Aug 2024

      Interview

Applied and was asked to do a phone screen. Hiring manager said it "wasn't an interview" but they asked me questions for 30 minutes to see if I'd be a good fit. Sounds like an interview to me. Two more 1-hour interviews after that. All three interviews asked essentially the same questions and were the same people so I'm not really sure what the point of it all was. Ultimately ghosted. Never heard from them after the third interview. Really disappointing from a non-profit who I respected for their work. Either they don't respect applicants time or they are too unorganized to communicate. Red flags either way.

      Question 1

I don't remember all the questions, but they asked me several questions regarding DEI and my experience with that.
