I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Ancestry (Provo, UT) in Jan 2016
Interview
I was invited to come in to interview with several members of the team. I checked in at the front desk and at that time the secretary gave me a small gift for interviewing with the company making me feel welcome. I sat on a small sofa until someone came and got me for the interview. They started out the interview with a fun question with regards to solving a fun problem on the board. The interview process was a combination of getting to know me as a person and how I would fit in vs them asking me technology questions to see if I knew the code stack. The interview was lengthy and lasted for about 4 hours. I interviewed with a wide range of people such as ... "product owner", "two software engineering managers", "Software Directors", "chief architect of ancestry" and a few others. The interview was very smooth but my only complaints is I had to re explain myself as people came in to interview me.
