      Ad Sales Consultant Interview

      4 Nov 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Indianapolis, IN
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Angi (Indianapolis, IN) in Oct 2014

      Interview

I applied on their website, received a phone call next day. she invited me for face to face. she told me to prepare at least five questions to ask the interviewer. I think the reason they want you to prepare so many questions is that they don't ask very many questions themselves. We sat there staring at each other for most of the interview because they didn't really know what to say. Two guys spoke with me in a small room, kind of awkward but they seemed cool. But i did get a feeling they were the kind of dudes that might have robbed me back in high school. haha Definitely not the people who were top of the academics. Do yourself a favor and look at the financials of the company, You'll notice that they're losing money every year. The revenue is going up, but the Income is in the red every year. The morale in the building is horrible, probably because nobody is making any money. Nobody was smiling, everyone looked like they're in a really bad mood and I over heard other people complaining about things at work. Seems like a really horrible place to work. The sales people are in the same building as Denali executives, if you're looking for a sales job then you've probably been approached by these idiots. just the fact that angies is in the same building as them turned me off. Angies list was probably really cool 15 years ago and they are riding that wave still. seemed like that wave is settling down now and soon there won't be anything to ride. Go to the interview but don't burn any other opportunities. While you talk to these guys, grill them on morale and why the company is in the red every year.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Angi in Nov 2014

      Interview

I submitted my resume & cover letter on their website & received a sales assessment link quickly. Once I completed it, I received an email request for a phone screen, which ended up being that same day. I moved forward with the reference process & once complete, scheduled a face to face intreview with a team leader & HR member. This process was very quick & smooth.
