      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Anomali in Aug 2025

      Interview

I had an interview with the CTO. It was a bad experience. I’d read reviews saying he was rude, and they were right. He wasn’t supportive at all during the interview. His English was pretty weak, and whenever I asked questions about the company, his answers were completely off-topic. Most of the time, he didn’t even seem to understand what I was asking, especially when I asked about the company's PROJECT. "PROJECT" may not be in his English library He gave me an SQL question that was easy to misunderstand. Instead of explaining it better or giving an example, he just stopped the interview and told me I wasn’t good at SQL. It felt so unfair, and I couldn’t help but think working with him would be a nightmare. The only good part was the recruiter. He was really supportive, and I appreciated that.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Anomali (Belfast, Northern Ireland)

      Interview

I applied online. The whole process was quick fast. After they reached me out, they provided one or two days for preparation between each round. 1) Online Code Test - 3 simple questions - The time complexity requirement is not written, but it is definitely counted. 2) Phone screen - Very good conversation - Normal HR chat 3) Panel interview - I received the invitation email the day before interview. There is a 12-hour time difference, so I have to sleep very late to answer the email. - Unexpectedly, it splitted into two meetings. two hours total. - The tech lead was very nice and chill. - Didn't expect more simple coding tests, so didn't prepare IDE for it, and Better practise Python first - In the second meeting, there were a lot of questions from different area like an oral exam. 4) Rejection Overall impression: - Positive company - Still growing and many opportunities - the procedure is still improving - Relaxing culture

      Software Engineer Interview

      2 Apr 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Belfast, Northern Ireland
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Anomali (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Jan 2020

      Interview

Starts informal - offsite coffee with an internal recruiter and an engineer. Then a HackerRank test to complete at home (mix of multiple-choice questions and coding challenges in your prefered language). An on-site interview with two senior-level staff (team managers in my case). Two remote interviews conducted as video calls with a screen-sharing session. Successful applications are background checked and references are contacted. Interviews were difficult at the time but only because I was keen to be successful - they're not intentionally conducting high-pressure interviews. You should do your preparation, calm those nerves and let yourself enjoy the experience.
