I interviewed at Apex Automation and Controls (Chandigarh)
Interview
Interview process Is quite good and the interviewer is quite supportive. Prepare for the basic industrial control systems and instrumentations used in it and prepare for basic plcs and scada systems.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Apex Automation and Controls (Edmonton, AB) in Jun 2021
Interview
The company posted a fairly vague ad on LinkedIn looking for junior developers. They responded quickly to my application and set up an initial interview. This interview was pleasant and informal. The questions consisted mostly of culture questions. The interviewer even exclaimed that I was a perfect fit for their culture and the they would love me to come in and interview in person for a position they were trying to create.
They however thought it would be a good idea for me to meet their head of innovation first. They forwarded my email to them and said they would get back to me.
A week goes by with back an forth emails and the head of innovation finally gets back to me to set up a second interview. This interview was also very pleasant the interviewer conducted themselves very professionally. This interview also went very well and they stated that there would have to be one final ìn person interview where I'd get a chance to tour their office and meet a few people including their PhD. They stated that they'd need some time to set this meeting up though.
3 weeks go by with no response from the interviewer. Finally after I've checked in a few times, something they requested, they set up an interview date.
They third interview was again informal and pleasant they introduced me to their head engineer and their comp Sci PhD. This was also where the process started to go south to explained that they don't really start the hiring process when they need the employee and that they would probably not be needing me until minimum a month later but wanted to assure me that they were not in fact leading me on.
Jump to over a month of radio silence aside from one email telling me that they are both ahead and behind schedule and they are telling me that no I will not be given a position and that they are moving on to other initiatives.
This company despite looking like a very nice place to work with very nice interviewers completely wasted my time.
