      Receptionist Interview

      12 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Charlotte, NC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Apple Unlimited (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2011

      Interview

A recruiter found my resume on monster.com and called me to make an appointment to come in for an interview. When the recruiter called, she did not call me by the right name, but seemed polite. I arrived for the interview a little early, filled out a pre-employment application, and waited for one hour. I sat in the waiting room and watched two episodes of The Office, while I heard what sounded like people in a break room behind the waiting room playing ping pong. The interview was given by a man wearing uniform that said something about auto glass who was pulled from another area of the company to conduct interviews. Yes, they have an HR employee, but I guess that person was on vacation, or in the break room playing ping pong. The interviewer was friendly, he spent half of the 10 minutes or so of the interview talking about other applicants: how impressive they were, where they went to school, what they majored in etc., and then he spoke about himself. He asked me two questions that he was required to for the interview: “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” and “Are you competitive?”. He also made some small talk and asked me about my education and etc. It was not a professional interview. The impression I got from this company is that they want to appear busy and successful, but are not quite there yet, so they like to schedule many people at once to interview at around the same time. My advice is to keep looking.
