The entire process was a confusion between the role they wanted me to hire for. The job title said product owner but when I got the first call I was told it was scrum master and project manager. I waited for 3 weeks for next round of interview but no one turned up and i joined another company. I wanted to relocate to Delhi NCR so did not discontinue expressing my interest in the position.
After 4 weeks I got a call and they wanted me for skype Interview but I told them that I can be available for only phone call during business hours and for skype only before 10 AM or after 4 PM as I already joined another company.
They scheduled for 9:00 AM on one fine day but after waiting till 9:40 I got a ping from recruiter that interviewer is not available. This continued for 3 times and every time the interviewer did not show up; and finally I had first interview with one Sr. Project manager.
That was skype interview and he refused to show his face and asked me all irrelevant and personal questions. His feedback was that I am more interested in product owner role than project manager role. Probably he was dumb enough to comprehend my language because I clearly remember that I mentioned that I have been working as Project Manager for high end clienteles in product based companies.
For another one month I got no response and on one day I got the call from recruiter and she requested for another round with Delivery head. During interview the interviewer asked me if I wanted to know anything, so I asked about team hierarchy and reporting structure. the reason for asking this question was how the team is structured and who drives the development. i know work culture of start ups and learned how these companies are driven by politics and powered by ego.
I realized there is a big hole in the structure and asked him how they tackle problems related to delivery and commitments to the clienteles in such a case. This question made him speechless as he had no answer to it. Later he asked me about my profile and then said that HR will contact me regarding interview results.
The next day I got a rejection email for the position of Product owner. i cracked into laughter again and replied saying thank you.
