The first interview in the process is an initial HR-type screening with some basic questions. Next up was an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a copyediting assessment. After this, there was a four-hour interview block scheduled, with one-hour increments containing different personnel throughout the company.

Question 1
How do you handle needing to constantly iterate for a project prior to submission?
I had 8 virtual interviews with employees around the company, most of which worked in my field or in leadership. Some of the meetings had more than one employee present. They took place over 2 days, which ended in me presenting some of my research to the company in a virtual brownbag style talk followed by q&a. The interviews varied a lot. Some of them were relaxed and just allowed me to ask questions about the company, others were highly technical and delved into my skills and abilities. Overall it was a pleasant experience with just some slight intimidation, and I really appreciated how straightforward and open the employees were with me. I felt like I got a really good understanding of what working here would be like. Now that I have been at Aptima for a while, I have been on the other side of the interview process and always strive to do the same for new applicants.

Question 1
Very specific questions about my specific research publications, previous project work, business development experience, etc.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aptima in Sept 2021
Interview
Initial phone screening with HR, two interviews with people on the team, then a final multi round interview with various people on the team, some panel others 1 on 1, including a 40 minute presentation on a previous project.
Very enjoyable process where everyone was friendly, seemed like they wanted to be there, and no “gotcha” type questions.
