Applied via LinkedIn (June 2019), and was immediately contacted by their internal recruiter - basic phone screening. The interviewer was very welcoming, and clearly explained both what the company is looking for, and what can be expected from the internship.
Invited for face-to-face (F2F) interview a few days later, with Head of Data Science and a Data Scientist - each interview lasted about 1 hour each. There was a good mix of normal conversation and technical questions. Computer Science, engineering, and data science fundamentals were tested throughout. It is clear that these are very smart people, with a lot of experience in the industry - seemed like a great learning opportunity. The WeWork office is modern with lots of perks.
Final round interview was a few days later, with one of the founders (who was reviewing my CV for the first time on his phone during the F2F). This was an odd interview, lasting only about 10 minutes before the interviewer abruptly walked out without giving instructions on where to go (the WeWork has other companies working in the same space, so it's unclear where each company's office private space is, not to mention that I didn't have a key card, which was required to get around the building). I was left there for around 20 minutes before the internal recruiter saw me in the meeting room alone. I just put this down to a busy day of work, and squeezing my interview in at the end of the day.
Excluding the final interview, all my interview experiences were overwhelmingly positive, and I was made to feel welcome throughout. The people there are evidently exceptionally smart, and it looks like a great learning opportunity. The hiring process is the most efficient I've experienced, with response times being minutes!
The contract for the offer came through a few days later, but declined to explore other full-time opportunities.
