The one that sticks out the most was the foreign lawyer in Singlish accent who was in attendance with camera turned off throughout the interview and her application of the "guilty until proven innocent" principle. Just because I have a law degree doesn't mean I have to be a corporate lawyer.
Indonesia is a civil law jurisdiction and has over 500 municipalities. You can use your law degree for many more professions other than being a barrister, especially if you don't live in Greater Jakarta, such as notary, prosecutors because there are positions to be filled in those >500 municipalities. Notaries in civil law jurisdictions also have far more authorities than their common law counterparts. There are also civil servants who only has a high school certificate pursue a university degree, incl. law, to be eligible for promotions.
Was she taught that at her UK law degree? There are people living outside major metropolises and urban centres and she put her London/KL/Singapore gaze and prejudices over other people's way of lives. Lawyer who doesn't know Asia beyond jurisprudence
