I applied online. I interviewed at Assurant in Nov 2024
Interview
The phone screener asked age-related questions like the year I graduated high school and my birthdate. This is extremely illegal and is a violation of ADEA. The interviewer had a thick Indian accent, so it's possible Assurant outsources their screenings and the interviewer had no idea how many laws she was breaking during this ten-minute phone screen. Whether they work directly for Assurant or is a third-party, they still represent Assurant.
I applied for an entry level position. Basically, data entry. I did the phone screen on Friday and she said someone would call me Monday with a follow up interview. No one called. I'm 40+ and was extremely qualified for this role. In fact, anyone that can type should be qualified for this entry level position. The fact that no one followed up makes me wonder if my age played a role.
Even if it weren't for that, the person that did the interview stated that it could take a month to go through the interview process and there could be as many as four interviews.
Four interviews over the course of a month. For an entry level position. Let that sink in.
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to look into this matter further. Please email us at TalentAcquisition@assurant.com with the name of the role you interviewed for and the details of your experience, and someone from our team will respond.
