I had a close to 1 hr phone interview, then had a technical 1hr interview in the office. That went well, I then met with the director for another hour in the office. I received an offer letter about a 4 days later but the terms were ridiculous. The salary offered was a good 20% below my current salary, the vacation/benefit were well below the industry standard.
I sent a polite email telling them that the terms were not what I was expecting, and asked if they could increase the base salary. And then weeks went by and I never heard back from them. I had to reach out to them multiple times across a few weeks to finally get a response that said "Sorry. We take back our offer". They didn't even respond to my counter-offer and tell me it was out of their budget.
The only positive about my entire process was the team member and hiring manager who conducted my technical interview were both extremely professional and nice people to deal with. The director spent a decent amount of our interview on his phone...I should've just walked out then.
