The interview with Luis Avita went really well. He had found my resume on Work In Texas and contacted me stating that he was impressed with my experience, and even though I had no relevant experience in this industry, he felt that I would be a good fit if my attitude was right.
We met, talked for a while and took a tour of the facility in Rockwall, TX. At the end of our interview, he asked if I was interested and I said yes. We shook hands and he asked when I could start. I asked when do you need me and he look at his watch as if to say right now. Since it was a Friday, I suggested Monday and he agreed. Then he said that someone from HR would call me than day. I waited and got no phone call.
I showed up Monday assuming they could handle the onboarding process while Luis trained me and or had me shadow someone. When I told Luis that HR had not contacted me he tried to call them but their California office hadn't opened yet.
He then introduced me to his superior and they both agreed that HR must have been busy on Friday being that it was a payroll day. Luis suggested that all it would take was a background check and that I was already set up there.
Later that day, their HR department contacted me via email to set up a day and time for a phone "interview" as a "potential candidate". What?? I responded by asking why I was now called a "potential candidate" given what I was told by Luis. I then gave HR two days to contact me at 11 am CST and they failed to call.
Then HR emails me to explain that there must have been a misunderstanding and that Luis didn't give me the position and that they had decided to select someone else.
