Autonomous Solutions Systems Engineer interview questions

My friend completed the phone interview, technical testing through test dome, and an in person interview. The interviewer said HR would reach out for next steps. They reached out to HR twice to follow up but heard nothing for weeks. The ‘thanks for your interest but’ email eventually showed up. Not the best experience and honestly confusing. Interviews felt great but the company apparently changed its mind?
