      Management Development Program Interview

      19 Jul 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Averda in Jun 2011

      Interview

Initial communication from the company was pretty unprofessional, with many correction emails and inconsistent communication. The two day assessment center was structured in a way that on the first day, there was a numerical test, a verbal test, a set of in-tray exercises and a group exercise. Both numerical and verbal, were pretty standard assessment tests, where different set of data had to be analyzed and used for computation, while within the verbal it was to an extend GMAT style text, from which info had to be extracted on which questions had to be answered. In-tray exercises was a set of different structural tasks within a business case. Here, each task had time limit, from 30 to 60min while everyone had to keep own track of time. Lastly, a group exercise was basis to asses how one works within a team. A business case was presented, that then had to be discussed within a group of 6 candidates. No presentation was made in follow up, this simply served to assess ones working style. The second day, there were 4 rounds of interviews. First on the operational level, then fit interview, a personality interview and finally a presentation of a business analysis, that everyone had received the day before for a 60min period, in which one had to analyze the case, structure it, and prepare it for presentation. The case itself and the notes of your analysis were collected however and only handed to you again, just before the presentation. SO really you only had the 60min to prepare plus some 15 to 30 min to review your notes just before the presentation. Each round of interview lasted about 45min, with one respective Averda representative.
