      Interview

I recently had the opportunity to interview for the Senior SRE position at Axon, which I applied online. A few days after applying, I was contacted by a recruiter (A.S.) to schedule a call for a short discussion. Unfortunately, during our scheduled call, the recruiter had to abruptly leave the conversation due to an urgent call from their boss. Although I understand that emergencies can occur, how the recruiter dropped without prior notice was unexpected. I was waiting on the call, though I was not told anything. When the recruiter returned the call after approximately five to seven minutes, they briefly apologized (a one-word sorry) and continued the interview without further explanation, as nothing happened. After the short chat, the recruiter mentioned that they would pass this on to the hiring manager and see which role fits and will update. Again, it surprised me as Clear communication and a detailed understanding of the role applied are crucial in any recruitment process. So I asked why you were saying which role! I applied for the Senior SRE role, and we are talking about this role, right? His response was very vague... yes we are recruiting for ... we have 6/7 candidates in the pipeline, and we will see who/how fits where. Once the call ended, I emailed the recruiter that I was withdrawing my application and would not proceed further. I am shocked and was interested to see other's feedback here. Reading others' experiences, it seems others also found it unclear/vague!

We strive for clear and respectful communication and regret that we did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is valuable and will be used to improve our recruitment practices.

      Interview

The recruitment person (HR) is good and apart from that whole process is complete waste of time. The real problem with interview process is they don't know what to do simply keeping 6-7 rounds, each 1 hr, + home exercize which takes 2-3 hrs,, but none of them person know what they doing and co-ordinations, at the end they will simply say now,, i did saw few reviews earlier and i did faced the same..

      Interview

Lengthy and Unclear Interview Process at AXON I recently participated in AXON’s hiring process for the Senior SRE II position, which turned out to be unexpectedly extensive and unclear. Throughout the process, I was asked to interview with numerous people, dedicating a significant amount of time. Despite this investment, the feedback provided was minimal and not timely, leaving me unsure about my performance and the criteria being used for selection. The process appeared disorganized, as it seemed like the company was uncertain about the specific qualifications or type of candidate they were seeking for the role. This not only made the interviews feel redundant but also less tailored and engaging. The lack of coordination among the teams involved was evident and contributed to a frustrating experience. For future improvements, I would suggest that AXON streamline their interview process by clearly defining the roles and the specific attributes they are seeking in candidates before starting interviews. Additionally, it would be beneficial for all involved if the number of interviews were reduced and better coordinated to respect the candidates' time and effort. Clear, constructive feedback after interviews would also greatly enhance the experience and professionalism of the hiring process.
