      Math Teaching Fellow Interview

      17 Jan 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at BASIS.ed (Washington, DC) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I had one screening phone call with Arizona HR first, and then eventually an in-person interview with the head of school. It was fairly brisk but friendly, with mostly questions you might expect about experience and my ideas about teaching. I was told ahead of time the topic of a sample lesson I would teach to a class of students (about 20 minutes), and given a tour of the school.

      Question 1

How do you try to engage students who don't think they are interested in math?
