Had an initial screening with an external recruiter. Then I had a one hour video interview with 2 members of the team. The questions for that round were all about my experiences, why I want to join this role etc. There was a task to then complete and present to them in 2 weeks time. After a half hour presentation, they ask questions around the presentation. The external recruiter sat through both interviews, which I thought was odd. Soon after the interview processes were over, the recruiter contacted asking for my thoughts on how to the interview went, and then said the team was very positive but didn’t make a decision yet. Here is where things went really sour. There was dead silence from them for over a month. After some follow up emails and a call by me to the recruiter, he finally said he would get the decision for me soon. Only to call and let me know they went with the other candidate because they had prior experience in something. I felt that was very misleading because they needn’t have wasted my time with the second round interview in that case. Also they could have been more forthcoming about their requirements in the earlier rounds.
