Typical phone screen followed by a phone call with a manager and then an on-site interview. They didn't really ask me anything challenging, just questions about my background and situations I had experienced. Then they proceeded to give me a verbal offer. I waited around for the next few days wondering why they hadn't sent over a written one yet. Apparently the offer wasn't happening. I know now to trust a verbal offer, but it was misleading. They proceeded to lead me on for 2 months before admitting I was a backup in case their top candidates didn't accept the position. I moved on, but any company that behaves this way in a. modern tech city is on the blacklist for myself and any possibility of a referral. Either choose your candidates or reject them. Give people transparency.
