      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      18 Jan 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BMS Performance (London, England) in Sept 2023

      Interview

Initial stage speaking on the phone with a consultant there was enjoyable. Then there was an assessment centre day which was gave you a sense of what the job might be like but was a bit long. However, the worst part of the process was in my final stage interview when I was asked inappropriate questions including what does my parent do for a living. I was quite shocked that they would ask such a personal question out of no where and I panicked. In my interview feedback they said they didn't like how I answered that question !?! What does my parent's job have to do with my ability to be a recruiter for BMS? Apparently enough to be asked in my interview.

      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      9 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Warrington, North West England, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BMS Performance (Warrington, North West England, England) in May 2019

      Interview

I only lasted approximately 5 minutes in the interview before I walked out. I came as an experienced recruiter with over 16 years experience and never experienced such a confrontive and challenging interview style....I was accused of lying about my experience (within the first few minutes)...which I wasn't. A first interview should be an opportunity to understand your candidate, delve through their experience, gather information on their skills and abilities and understand their motivator and drivers, which will help identify if they are a candidate who would fit into your business. This style of interview harks back to the bad old days of recruitment and certainly is a business that I would strongly recommend everyone to stay away from
