BNY’s internal recruiting process is an absolute joke. I was contacted by them on LinkedIn, only for the recruiter to reschedule our call multiple times due to “family issues.” Fine, life happens. But when we finally had the call, his attitude was beyond unprofessional—rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested, as if he was being forced to do his job. His tone made it clear he didn’t care and just wanted to check a box before moving on.
And then? No follow-up. Nothing. If you’re the one reaching out to me, at the very least, show some basic courtesy and respect. Why even bother if you clearly don’t want to do your job?
A month later, multiple third-party recruiters contacted me about the same role. I told them I was completely turned off by my experience, and every single one of them responded with, “Oh yeah, we’ve heard about him before.” So clearly, I wasn’t the first to deal with this nonsense.
This company either has no quality control over its recruiters or simply doesn’t care. If this is how they treat potential hires, I can’t imagine how they treat their employees. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being strung along and disrespected.
