      HRM Interview

      16 Jan 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bracknell, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at BSRIA (Bracknell, England)

      Interview

This was one of the most unusual interviews I have ever experienced and ultimately a very poor use of time for both parties. The questions focused largely on personal preferences (e.g. star sign, favourite TV show and book, and who I would most like to meet, living or deceased) rather than role-relevant competencies. I was also told that knowledge of the business or its products and services was not necessary to work in HR, and that the main requirement for the role was “someone who doesn’t annoy me,” as stated by the CEO, whose interview style was very overbearing. Despite being told the company had struggled to recruit for the role for some time, I was then informed that they “couldn’t possibly afford” me and was asked instead to complete a three-month contract at £20k less than discussed. I declined politely! Overall, it did not come across as a remotely professional or well-structured recruitment process.
