      Executive Director Interview

      22 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Babson College in Mar 2025

      Interview

I applied in November and followed up after submitting my application but did not hear back until March. The interview process included an initial HR screening, a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager, and three separate panel interviews with a total of six team members. The panels included a mix of college administration leaders, department heads, and individual contributors. The conversations were thoughtful and engaging. After the final round of interviews, I followed up several times and received one update about a month later. After that, there was no communication for another two and a half months. I sent a final follow-up requesting an update and was informed that they had moved forward with another candidate. While the interviews were constructive, the process lacked consistent communication and transparency. Given the institution's reputation and my connection as an alumna, I expected a more structured and responsive experience. I've requested feedback, but based on the total experience, I don't anticipate getting any. Overall, the interviews were fairly standard. However, given that I met with a total of nine individuals, the preparation required significant time and effort. Researching each person's role, anticipating questions from their functional perspectives, and aligning my responses to the responsibilities of the role was a detailed and time-consuming process. The interviews themselves were not particularly difficult, but the preparation was intensive due to the number of stakeholders involved.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Can you describe a time when you worked cross-functionally to develop and execute a strategy? What was your role, how did you align the different teams, and what was the outcome?
