The interview process took place over a 4 week period via Zoom. The initial interview was with the HR Manager, followed by an interview with the HR Director, the Warehouse Manager and team, and one last interview with both the HR Manager and Director. All the interviews were fairly casual and personable, with the exception of the last interview being a surprise role play process, which included a series of work related scenarios and constructive feedback from HR. They also asked me to fill out an assessment online, which took about 2.5 hours. Overall, the entire process was time consuming and thorough, and they were slow at following up with me with a decision. Being that this is a new position for the company, they were still piecing together the details of the job description. Ultimately, they decided they needed a Bilingual (Spanish & English) employee. I was shocked and dismayed by this conclusion, as this is something most businesses have figured out in the very beginning of the hiring and make that very clear in the job posting. This was not the case for Banyan Botanicals. I was suspicious of this reason, as it felt more like an excuse to not offer me the position. I would have appreciated a more straightforward response, if they ended up choosing someone else they felt was more qualified. Instead, I felt strung along in their lengthy and time consuming process and felt it was handled unprofessionally in the end.
