      Sales Coordinator Interview

      7 Dec 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Walsall, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Barhale (Walsall, England) in Dec 2017

      Interview

Applied via indeed had an intital chat with a lady from HR and we discussed salary and the job role. I said what I wanted as a salary and she said they wouldn't pay that so I said fine not to worry. But she said let me ask the powers that be. However she called back and asked me for a interview which was just a one to one chat. With a really nice experienced interviewer. He said I would get second interview next week we also discussed my salary expectations. I got a call later that week inviting me for a second interview. I got nothing in writing which was a bit disappointing so I sent a text to my second interviewer to confirm the time and date. The second interview was awful he clearly had no idea what he was doing. He had no questions for me it lasted less than the first one about 20 mins. He knew nothing of my salarly expectations and ask very inappropriate questions. Such as HOW OLD ARE YOU ? because I was so shocked by this question, I responded with how old do you think I am? which had him floundering for a good 30 second before I answered. He then proceeded to asked if I had a family. My temper now was rising as I knew what he was asking. So I said yes I have a family and added when I could see from his reaction this was not the answer he was expecting but they are teenagers. For a company that talks about values and honesty was I gobsmacked and appalled by these questions. I even complained to their HR department about it. Their response was we are really sorry he shouldn't of asked those questions and your responses are not the reason you didn't get the position we went for someone with more experience. But what I heard younger and cheaper . Which is fine but they are defiantly a company I will avoid in the future.
