I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Barrows (Buenos Aires) in Dec 2025
Interview
I interviewed for a graphic designer position and had a awful experience. The interview began without a proper acknowledgment of my presence there, and there was an initial delay of several minutes due to other matters being handled during the scheduled time. Although an apology was given, it made the start of the conversation feel disorganized.
During the discussion, there seemed to be a lack of alignment regarding the role requirements and my professional background. It was mentioned early on that my profile was not what they were looking for, which was confusing given that I had been invited to interview. If they knew I wasn't what they were looking for, why did they invite me for the interview then? The overall tone of the conversation felt dismissive, and I did not feel that my projects or experience were fully understood.
I believe interviews should be structured, respectful of candidates’ time, and aligned with the position’s expectations. Unfortunately, this was not my experience.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Barrows (London, England) in Jul 2025
Interview
4 stages:
1. chat with product lead,
2. take home technical
3. review technical, chat with other devs on the team
4. culture fit
The process moves as fast as you can send back the technical assessment.
Took about 1 month to get through each stage.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Barrows (New York, NY) in Mar 2025
Interview
I first spoke with the HR hiring manager for this role on the phone for maybe 10-15 minutes. Pretty basic introductory interview where you're vetted for general job match. I then interviewed with a manager of the team who asnwered all of my questions thoroughly. I felt like the interview had gone great but then I didn't make it to the next round. When I reached out to the HR manager who had been super responsive before she never responded with any reason for as to why I wasn't a good match. Not even a general message. This was off-putting to me a bit.
