I applied towards the end of January, and got a response towards the end of March. Had a phone screen first, which was just going over my resume with the recruiter. We had a time scheduled for early in the morning, so I cleared my schedule for that morning and sat awaiting the recruiter's phone call. The scheduled time comes and goes, 15 minutes pass, 30 minutes pass, and I eventually decide to call him. It was obvious he completely forgot we had one scheduled, but he gave some excuse and we re-scheduled for the next week. The re-scheduled one went normally, and a few days later I was asked to come in for an in-person interview (Early April). I go into the interview with the manager of the department, and it went really well. It was a fairly normal interview, asking about my experiences with situational questions and telling me about the internship. Ended with an elevator speech from me. I thought the interviewer and I really "clicked" and that I had it in the bag. Anyway, that wasn't the case. She told me that I would have a response by Wednesday (I interviewed on a Friday). So Wednesday came, nothing. I e-mailed at the end of the week to check up on the status, and received no reply. Another week passes, and I call the manager and went to voicemail and got no reply. I called the recruiter, and was told that they're still in the decision making process. Fair enough. 2 more weeks pass and at this point it's been a month since my interview (Early May). I call again. No answer from either the recruiter or manager. At this point, I've assumed I wasn't selected. Today, 3.5 months since applying and 1.5 months since interviewing, I finally got an AUTOMATED e-mail from Battelle stating that the "requisition for the position has been canceled". Not sure if they actually did or didn't choose anyone, but this was the most unprofessional interview process I've ever gone through. Even a courtesy e-mail from an actual person would have been enough for me. I really, really wanted to intern at Battelle, but after experiencing this and seeing how they operate I'm really relieved I didn't end up working here. Don't waste your time.

Very supportive and nice! My interviews were my future boss and team member. They asked me about my college and hobbies before starting the interview which helped me relax into the process.
