I received an unexpected call from the recruiter, who left a voicemail, and despite multiple attempts to reach him, I couldn't get through. When he finally answered, he sounded like he had just woken up. I asked if it was a good time to talk, and he responded with, "It's never a good time; I have tons of roles to fill."
We continued the conversation, during which he asked several odd questions. When we reached the topic of salary, he refused to share the range, even though it was publicly listed in the job posting—I just wanted to confirm it. He then mentioned that only someone "amazing" would get the top of the range and implied that he wasn't sure if that applied to me.
Throughout the conversation, I had to repeat the name of my current employer and my responsibilities multiple times because he seemed inattentive. His tone was very condescending, and overall, he didn't come across as someone who should be the first point of contact for the company.
