I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Belmont Thornton (Wimbledon, England) in Aug 2012
Interview
The Interview passed for 2 days but very quickly. First had phone interview followed by a face-to-face interview.
The Phone interview lasted for 45mins, where the IT Manager was actually discussing about their company culture and their challenges they face every day. And he shoot few technical questions like Boxing, Unboxing, Reflection, Assembly, String, String Loader, Cache, Session, VB.net, C#.Net and 3tier architect .
Then they called for Face-to-Face interview and as soon as I entered IT Manager gave me a paper and asked me to complete that project in 1Hr( and I was already informed by the Recruiter about the same) . The Interview will end as soon as you fail to complete the task.
The Task was about creating a DB in local, Creating tables, inserting dummy datas into the DB. Then create a Dot Net website make the connection to SQL DB sucessfully. Then write the C#.net (VB.Net) program to insert, select and delete data and also it has to manage the login and depending on users the website has to redirected and logic should be written. The code has to be debugged with out any single error.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Worst thing - To complete the whole task within 1 Hr is just ridiculous. It took 30mins for me to create the DB,Tables, insert Datas and make connection from Dot net page. And for the reset of the query commands it took another 30mins. My code didn't had any bugs but it was incomplete. I gave my best of what I can do in 1Hr. But I was really gutted when the IT manager just saw that incomplete didnt even uttered to see the full code and ended the interview.
Unexpected Scenario - I was been informed that the company follow dress down policy daily. But there was some thing new that, they don't follow documentation. And the place really doesn't look like a corporate world. Things looked shattered with employee wearing casual and shorts. I am happy that I didn't got the offer, because my career would have been a question mark once I plan to move from Belmont.
