I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Better (Oakland, CA) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interview process itself was straight forward enough. After submitting my application online I was contacted by a representative from HR for a phone interview. A couple days later HR contacted me again to schedule an interview with a department manager & regional manager.
The interview with management was average - we discussed my work experience, why I had applied for the role, etc. and answered questions that I had about the role/company.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you made an error and how you handled it?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Better in Feb 2021
Interview
I applied in early January and didn’t hear anything until early February. Once I got the email about setting up a phone screen with a recruiter, I passed through and had a timed assessment to complete within 24 hours. You have a written portion where you are given scenarios and have to write an email. There’s a regular comprehension timed portion and a personality part. I heard back the next day that I had been moved forward to the formal interview. I met with two people on Zoom, one was a member of the processing team and the other was a recruiter. They were great to talk to, it felt more like a conversation than an interview. I was told I’d hear back within four days and was offered the position about 3 days later. I accepted and am so excited to start with Better! I know it’s a longer process than most jobs, but it makes sense with how much they’re investing into each employee. Be yourself and make sure to read into the company/prep for the interview so that you don’t feel too stressed/anxious for it. Questions are pretty usual situational/behavioral ones. Also make sure to prep questions to ask!

Question 1
Describe a time you went above and beyond to help a customer.
I applied online. I interviewed at Better in Feb 2021
Interview
Interview was really straight forward. I met with a recruiter for about 30 minutes. After the interview they actually asked if I'd be interested in a different position than applying. We discussed that option and agreed. I got several follow up emails from the recruiter preparing and setting up my interview with a Processing Leader and Sr. Recruiter. Was told it would be a few weeks before a decision was made, but actually got an offer within a few days.

Question 1
A lot of questions about my resume experience, how that applied to my application and reviewing the job description. When meeting with the team lead and Sr. Recruiter, they were more casual conversations about the work, team dynamic and personality of the company.
The recruiter was very clear and went above and beyond. The interview process was smooth sailing. The skills assessment can be a little difficult but overall it was a great experience.
