Initial phone screener was rude and obviously did not know anything about the position or required skills. Seemed irritated or having a bad day. Two separate recruiters told me they get frequent, similar complaints. After a personality test and portfolio submission, two much more pleasant interviews followed with great feedback and I was optimistic. Then it got weird. First, the recruiter told me they had some concerns but didn't have any detail. Then, the hiring manager sent me an abrupt form email stating my skills didn't match what they were looking for (after two recruiter screenings, their own screening, and two interviews during which they praised my work and knowledge). I followed up with the recruiter who said their BICSI contact stated there was an "underlying reason" they didn't want to hire me so I followed up with their BICSI contact who said that was a misunderstanding, I was simply not qualified, and they were going with another candidate. I continued getting calls from recruiters stating the position was still open and they'd been trying to fill it for months. Bizarre.
