      I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BioRender (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2020

      Interview

      About 1 week after submitting an online application, I was contacted by someone in the company to attend an interview. I chose the date and time for the following week. During the interview, we discussed the company/role and I answered a lot of questions in the 20 minutes that we had. We also managed to squeeze in some friendly conversation. I thought the interview went quite well and was pleased to see an email later that evening requesting that I submit a writing assessment that needed to be completed by midnight the following night. After spending a good amount of time on this project, including tons of research on the company website, I submitted the work sample within the deadline. I received a response from the same person the next day thanking me and letting me know she'd be in touch soon. I let 1 week go by before following up to see if there was an update on my application. I received no response. After another 2 weeks, I emailed the person again asking for feedback on my interview and work sample, as I presumed that I'm not moving forward. It's been 1 week since that final email and haven't received any response, not even an auto-reply stating the person is out of the office. I was really excited about the prospect of working for this company, but was disappointment with this process. It's disrespectful of my time to ask me to do a work sample and not reply after weeks, especially given how difficult it is to search for a job during a pandemic. Although I had been excited, I suppose this experience gives me some insight as to the poor communication within the company.
