I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2019
Interview
Applied online like 2-3 times got auto rejection emails every single time. Finally talked to Bloomberg at career fair and got an on campus interview.
First round I was asked 2 technical questions within an hour by one engineer. The engineer said she wanted to schedule me for the final round at the end of the interview, so we scheduled that
Final round another one hour with two engineers this time. They each asked me a technical question. One of the engineers was super welcoming and approachable, the second engineer seemed really annoyed from the beginning and was extremely rude. Literally the rudest interviewer I have ever had. I talked to some other students and they all agreed with the rude behavior of his lady. Like it was so hard to look at her and talk because she would give rude responses and make faces. You could tell the other dude was being extra nice to try and make up for the rudeness, just a super awkward situation.
After that I had a 15 minute chat with recruiter about general things. I personally thought I did ok. I came up with optimal solution for first question, pretty sure my solution for second question was not optimal even the interviewer said my solution sounded great when I suggested it.
Got an auto rejection email a week later. Reached out to recruiter asking for feedback. Got the typical “it is against our policy to provide feedback, apply again next year” response. I would’ve rated my experience positive had it not been for that one interviewer. However, I think Bloomberg needs to give better training to their interviewers to make candidates more comfortable. I’ve never had such an awful interviewer.
I was reached out by the recruiter directly through LinkedIn. I was asked one medium and one hard LeetCode-style question, with a few follow-ups. It started with a general introduction.
5 rounds they are all bloomberg tagged question i didn’t pass em round went deep in tour resume another leetcode question and q&a at the end. In retrospect, i thought I did well but maybe their bar this year is high.
5 rounds 3 tech 1 hr 1 em - they asked a couple leetcode mediums and I know others have gotten some hards I think you should prep the leetcode tagged they are asked a lot
