Interview
This was a virtual one-way interview that was conducted after I submitted my application for the news internship. There were four questions, each given 30 seconds to answer, which began with my personal background and then asked about the story I was most proud of reporting on and a story pitch that I had.
I applied through university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Dec 2024
Interview
good, quite straightforward and tested on past experiences and current affairs
There are 5 rounds in total
1. Submit your application with 3 articles/portfolio
2. Pre-recorded interview which has 5-6 questions and only 1.5 minute to answer
3. Assessment Centre- 2 30 minute interviews with current employees from different departments or experienced journalists
4. There is also a 1 hour written exam which tests you on your current affairs, financial knowledge and writing skills

They always put a longer term horizon in mind, so try to research as much as you can about their values and what they look for in candidates
Diversity, data, financial knowledge gives you an edge
After submitting my CV, cover letter, I was asked to fill in additional application questions about news and Bloomberg specifically. Despite being ineligible (sophomore as opposed to junior or senior) I was invited to a HireVue interview. There was infinite response time which was surprising.
