      Problem Manager Interview

      15 Oct 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England)

      Interview

They got in touch and asked me to schedule the first interview which I did. Minutes before the interview they said they need to reschedule as they weren’t too sure about this role and they needed to check the requirements and they’d send another link out for me to reschedule the first interview. A week later was the earliest option for a meeting which I selected. During the first interview The interviewer called me asked me a couple of questions around my experience and it was a nice flowing conversation, she also asked about salary expectations. Although the offered salary was lower than what I have been getting at my current company she asked me if I was okay to move forward through to the next stage. I said yes as it would be great to work for Bloomberg and I’d be happy for her to progress me regardless of salary. She said she would go back to them regardless to see if they could push for a higher salary. I said that’s fine I’m happy to progress as salary wasn’t a big deal to me. She said she would get in touch with me to schedule the second stage interview. A week later I receive an email I have been rejected. I practically have been lied to. Before the interview I even reached out to the line manager as she had posted the role was available on her LinkedIn and she didn’t even bother replying. I feel like there’s some level of discrimination in Bloomberg that demonstrated that the manager lets their opinions and prejudice stand out in the way of treating all interviewees fairly.
