I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Oct 2015
Interview
Got to the stage of an interview with the team leaders. After initial application form had to do a standard online testing. Then I had a phone interview with someone from USA (which was rather strange because I applied to a position in London). The interviewer was really nice, starting with a friendly chat and managed to make me feel at ease through the whole process. The questions were typical why Bloomberg/why global data and tell me about a situation when... After that I got an email the same day with an invitation to the second interview in-house with the team leaders. That was a completely different story. The questions were more technical and the two girls who interviewed me were not friendly at all, moreover they kept interrupting me and telling me that my answers to their questions were wrong, after which they proceeded to telling me the correct answers and guess what they were just paraphrasing whatever I've said most of the time. After finding out that there would be 3 more stages to this process and generally getting fed up with their attitude I apologised, withdrew and left. Definitely not worth it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Bloomberg/ Why data?
What automated processes do we use?
How do we clean the data?
How would you find out if there's a mistake in the data?
What's more important: deadline or quality?
Video call with 2-3 rounds interview with different people. Case was given in a group setting that you have to work with other candidates. After that you will get into breakout rooms for 1-2-1 interviews where they will ask about your motivation to join the company and why this role.
Did one interview I thought it went well but I was rejected at the first stage. Asked for feedback they said they choosed somebody already in the department.
Waste of time.
