I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Bowmer & Kirkland (Cambridge, England) in Sept 2024
Interview
This company was typical of many that have their head office outside of London and the South East where they think that they can compete with lower staff remuneration compared to those already established there. They had set up this new regional office near Cambridge and although they claim to had work in the pipe-line, this was further contradicted when many of their repeat business clients had currently not got the finance to fund these projects. Despite the owner commitment to the area, I still reckon that once the current crop of projects is complete then this office will shut when they try to out-compete the more established companies in the area. I had come away from this employer unconvinced by this and hence advised the employment agency that I was withdrawing my application as I did not want to work there especially after reading some of the existing staff reviews.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bowmer & Kirkland (Manchester, England) in Dec 2020
Interview
Interview went great, I was very well qualified for the role and seemed a great fit a bit over qualified for the role. Got an email after following up (2 months later) I didn’t get the role because I did not have enough experience.
