Based on my experience I think that there is a genuine desire at Brainscape to treat their employees with respect, and I would assume that applies to potential employees as well. With this in mind, I would like to share with them that their interview process was executed in a way that was deeply inconsiderate of their candidates' time. In my case, I was actively interviewing with them for almost three months before getting rejected, with no response from them when I replied asking for feedback. Brainscape included multiple steps in their interview process, which works well when each step can be evaluated quickly. However, Brainscape was not able to do this, resulting in multiple months of ambiguity for the candidates. I also feel that after several rounds of interviews and a homework assignment over such a long period of time, offering feedback if asked should be done as a matter of a professional courtesy. During this process, the person who would manage the new hire emailed me on a Sunday and checked my work at 3 am. Based on all of these things, I cannot help but feel as though despite its intentions, this company currently operates without consideration for the time of their employees or potential employees, which is a major red flag for me. I would encourage Brainscape to either streamline their process or prioritize evaluating candidates so that they can be moved along more quickly.
